A Cooperative Art Gallery Showcasing Local Artists
A Cooperative Art Gallery Showcasing Local Artists
My beginnings as an artist started with my Mother, Florence C. Thompson. She was a Singer Sewing Machine demonstrator who taught me of art in sewing. My Dad, Tommy Thompson,
worked with wood, metal, rock, and plants. I was also lucky enough to have a watercolor artist, Kibby Linaweaver, living next door who took an interest in me as a young budding artist. My
school years were filled with art classes, visiting museums, galleries, and spending time exploring the coast line, mountains, deserts, and buildings of man.
As an adult, I continued taking art classes in different media. I was also fortunate enough to live in different states, travel different countries and make friends with many artist who willingly taught me their styles and techniques with acrylics, water, clay, silk and natural items of nature. It's amazing what you can use as art materials.
I live in Coos Bay, OR for the
moment, always waiting for the next adventure heading my way.
